A few notes on how to read the output.
Sample size is everything. Below 50 hands the chi-square test is unreliable because the expected counts in the rare buckets (Trail, Pure Sequence) drop below the threshold where the test statistic converges. A green score is not proof of fairness. It is proof you are inside the 95% confidence band of fair play at this sample size. This is the right reaction. Streaks feel rigged when you are inside them; the probability table says they happen with the frequency the player worked out. Run the auditor before you decide.

The Trail-rarity surprise is one of the most common false rigging reads. The math says one Trail every 425 hands and most players quit a bad session well before they get to that sample size.

This is sophisticated. The expected win rate scales by 1/(opponents+1), so a player who switches table size without updating their mental baseline will think they are getting cheated when they are just playing a worse-EV format.
Quora answer on TeenPatti Master, June 2024
“Played for two months thinking the app was throttling me whenever I won. Then I exported what I could and ran a chi-square in Excel. p-value 0.42. Not rigged. I was just bad at table selection and pot odds.”
Sample size and chi-square got the player to the answer. The personal experience felt like rigging; the data said otherwise. This is the right method.

Variance cuts in both directions. Players who are running hot read it as skill; players who are running cold read it as rigging. Most of the time it is just variance.
Statistical analysis: how to spot rigging in your own data
You do not need to be a statistician to run a basic fairness audit on your own play. The three tests below cover the cases you can actually catch as a single player. Each test answers a different question.
Test 1: chi-square on hand-category frequency
The chi-square test answers “are the hands I am being dealt distributed the way a fair shuffle would distribute them”. The closed-form Teen Patti dealing distribution is:

To run the test by hand:
- Log 100 to 200 hands. For each hand, write down what category you were dealt at the start (before any wildcards).
- Bucket your observed counts.
- For each bucket, compute (Observed − Expected)^2 / Expected.
- Sum the buckets. That is your chi-square statistic.
- Look up the p-value at degrees of freedom = bucket count − 1. For 3 buckets (Pair, Trail, Other), df = 2. For 6 buckets (full distribution), df = 5.
A p-value above 0.05 means your hands are inside the 95% confidence band of fair. A p-value below 0.05 means there is a less than 5% chance of seeing this distribution under fair play, and you have weak evidence of rigging. Below 0.01 is strong evidence.
Practical example. Suppose you logged 100 hands and saw 14 Pairs and 0 Trails. Expected: 16.94 Pairs and 0.24 Trails. The chi-square works out to about 0.83, which gives a p-value around 0.66. Solidly inside fair.
The auditor above runs this test for you on the three-bucket version (Pair, Trail, Other). For the six-bucket version, you need to log more granular data and a spreadsheet.
Test 2: runs test on your win and loss streaks
The runs test answers “are my wins and losses arriving in the order a coin flip at my win rate would arrive in, or are they clustered”. A “run” is a stretch of consecutive same outcomes.
To run by hand:
- Write your sequence as W and L. For example: WLLWLLLLLWLW.
- Count the number of runs. The example has 7 runs (W, LL, W, LLLLL, W, L, W).
- The expected number of runs under independent outcomes is approximately (2 × W × L) / (W + L) + 1, where W is total wins and L is total losses.
- The standard deviation of the number of runs is approximately sqrt((2 × W × L × (2 × W × L − W − L)) / ((W + L)^2 × (W + L − 1))).
- Compute z = (observed runs − expected runs) / sigma.
- If z is more than 1.96 in absolute value, the runs pattern is rejected at the 95% level.
Practical example. 100 hands with 38 W and 62 L. Expected runs = (2 × 38 × 62) / 100 + 1 = 48.1. Sigma is about 4.6. If you observe 35 runs, z = (35 − 48.1) / 4.6 = -2.85. That means your wins and losses are too clustered to be independent flips at a 38% win rate. Worth a closer look.
Test 3: variance check on win rate
This one is the simplest. Compare your observed win rate to the expected showdown win rate at your table size, and check whether the gap is bigger than what binomial variance allows.

If your observed win rate at 100 hands is inside the CI band, that is fair variance. Outside it on the low side at 3-sigma (less than expected − 3 × SE), worth flagging. Three sessions in a row outside the CI on the low side, the evidence is real.
The auditor above runs all three tests in a combined fairness score. Use it instead of doing the math by hand unless you specifically want to publish the numbers in a complaint.

He emailed Joy support with the player IDs and his observation log. Joy support replied within 24 hours, confirmed both accounts had been suspended for “automated play violations”, and refunded Bharath the chips he had lost to those two seats specifically (₹3,200) as goodwill.

What to do if you suspect cheating: Day 0 to Day 30
If you genuinely think you have been cheated, here is the escalation playbook. Do not skip steps. Skipping a step makes the next one harder.
Day 0 (today, 30 minutes)
Stop depositing. The single most expensive mistake is to chase the loss with another deposit while you are emotional. Close the app for the day.
